A message from Dean Swift

There will be fewer posts during the next few weeks as we are assembling and compiling etc. a book. It is a selection taken from the six hundred or so posts we have published in the last three years. Please have patience. And here is a Gollum-like trick question for our bloggers:-

Who says this? ‘Je ne suis pas ce que je suis

Answer: A man following a donkey.  (first person singular of verbs Être and Suivre)

David, that’s the spirit! Thank you very much for the compliment. We live in hope that when the book(s) is/are published it/they will be added to Amazon’s History list. Possibly e-bay as well. Very exciting! Best regards Dean.

I want the book as soon as I know where to find it…I will use Christmas Monies to buy one. Kindest Regatds, and hope to ask you about the CIVIL War in TENBY, Pembrokshire 1640 and a local man playing both sides against the middle there….someone called a Billy _ Ocher? Charles C. Rhys

Charles, be careful about TENBY. There are a number of Tenbys in England (and Wales). Practically everybody played on both sides during the English Civil War. It was by far the best thing to do, for reasons that are more than obvious!
V.best regards and Merry Christmas from my home in the Canary Islands.

Update on TENBY ancestors: Just found that John Parratt II son of Sir JOHN & Syble Berkley JOHNS plundered and then salvaged a small Spanish transport in the region of Milford Haven 1629, not far from former Family digs at Carew Castle and nearby TENBY. We later found this man in Barbados 1655 doing business with his cousin, displaced by the CIVIL WAR: John Barlow. I believe he’s the ancestor of Wm. Davis 1650 of S. CAROLINA and an exact Y DNA 25/25 match with no variation to my ancestor John RICE 1624 of DEDHAM. Quite a lot riding on this….and all discovered on line doing family research….LONG LIVE the INternet and DEAN SWIFT compressed/concise History….We are huge fans!!! Now where to get the book sir?
